Do you know how to plan a successful lesson for a first-time scoli client when armed with only an x-ray and a five-minute phone conversation? Can you not only plan that first lesson, but also make a subsequent plan of action so that person becomes a client of yours for life? Accomplishing this may seem overwhelming, but Erin Myers has the knowledge and skill to give you the confidence to boldly and safely work with scoliotic clients. Our scoliosis workshops will teach you this and more!
Praise For Scoliosis Intensive
Beyond happy to find Erin and Jennifer at Spiral Spine! I am a teacher who attended the Scoliosis Intensive Workshop looking to learn more on how to help my Scoliosis clients. The workshop is hands UP one of the best I have attended! The amount of knowledge Erin has about Scoliosis and her straight forward, kind, loving teaching style made me feel confident to travel home and help my clients. I will definitely be returning to this studio for continued education and will be working with them through their other services. Just Impressive! And really, really loved their heart-lead energy. If you are thinking about doing the Scoliosis Workshop as a teacher, this is your call to go immediately and book it. I can't believe how helpful it truly was. Thank you Spiral Spine! Thank you, Erin and Jennifer, for doing this workshop and opening up to help other teachers learn more! <3

After my Schroth physical therapist moved out of Chicago, I began looking for new ways to take care of my spine. As a full time Pilates instructor, I knew the benefits Pilates had on my spine but needed more assistance. When I learned about Spiral Spine Pilates and the Scoliosis Intensive, I knew it was the perfect opportunity for me to expand on my years of Pilates and scoliosis rehab. Even more importantly, the intensive was an opportunity for me to talk with other women in the fitness community about scoliosis - something I had never done before. The Intensive was truly incredible for many reasons, but the opportunity for this kind of connection made it an invaluable experience.
The intensive taught me new ways to alleviate my own pain, strengthen the pockets of weakness caused by scoliosis, and understand the how and why behind both of these techniques. Erin is truly brilliant but she is also kind. She knows and respects the heartache that comes along with the physical pain of scoliosis. Her understanding of the body, Pilates practice, and quirks of scoliosis are endless. Her teaching methods are through but clear. I walked away from the intensive immensely grateful, mentally and physically stronger, and prepared to take on my scoliosis in my own practice. Even though I went back to Chicago, I knew that Spiral Spine was always going to be there for me. It's been over a year since the intensive, and Spiral Spine Pilates has been there to support me every time I have asked for help.

Just attended the 2 day Scoliosis Intensive with Erin and her staff and I cannot say enough good things about the experience. I have been searching for the best way to manage my scoliosis for at least 20 years and I cannot possibly add up the hours and money spent that were wasted before I found Pilates. I have been detoxed, stretched, had colonics, tried yoga, balanced head weights and traction, almost died after a bad chiro adjustment (please don't let them twist your neck!), tried respected athletic trainers and PTs, internal visceral manipulation (to include parts unmentionable), had two different therapists from Europe (they are ahead of us over there), egoscue exercises (helpful but takes time), tried the equiscope which is microcurrent therapy (actually great pain relief but not in my area and you need frequent visits). Please note that I went to chiropractors for over 10 years before the injury, and while my pain did improve briefly, my curve(s) progressed. PILATES was the first thing that worked for me, and ERIN knows what she is doing. I highly encourage anyone with scoliosis to seriously consider Pilates with Erin. There is hope and this is the best place I have found in over 20 years. Wish I had found it long ago. Also, LISTEN to your body and don't underestimate your instincts. YOU know your body better than anyone else. Love it and take care of it. Wishing you the very best! Lastly and most importantly...PRAY!

Scoliosis Intensive Details
12 hours, 2-day workshop
Only offered in Nashville, TN
Scoliosis Intensive includes elements of Erin’s other scoliosis workshops but is specifically designed in response to the high demand of two groups of people wanting to work with Erin and her staff: scoliosis clients wanting specific instruction about their body and movement practitioners wanting to learn how to work with scoliosis clients. This workshop brings these groups of people together with Erin and her staff to create a one-of-a-kind learning environment. This information-packed workshop is designed to leave members of both groups feeling confident about managing their own or a client’s scoliosis.
Anyone with scoliosis is welcome to attend this workshop. Whether you’re 7 or 70, have a 16- or 60-degree curve, never plan on being fused, have had spinal fusion surgery, or are wearing a brace, we can help you. You will learn, in a hands-on, easy-to-understand way, how your scoli presents itself, research-based strengthening and release work exercises, individualized exercises for your unique body, how to modify exercises in group class settings, and a game plan for when you return home.
All movement practitioners are able to attend this workshop. You will work alongside Erin and her staff to help scoliosis clients through the process of understanding their beautiful scoliotic bodies by analyzing their bodies' needs, teaching them scoliosis movement principles, and creating tailored movement homework for each scoliosis client. Practitioners will need to have purchased Analyzing Scoliosis: The Pilates Instructor’s Guide to Scoliosis and have read it in its entirety prior to the workshop. They will need to bring their copy of Analyzing Scoliosis as well as a list of any questions they may have to the workshop.
Can't attend in person? Information on how to recreate the learning from the workshop in your own space can be found here.
As Erin's staff helps her teach the Scoliosis Intensive workshop, it is only offered on location at Spiral Spine Pilates studio in Brentwood, TN.
