Jessica Ingram

Jessica Ingram became a comprehensively trained Pilates instructor through Balanced Body after she spent almost twenty years dedicated to practicing yoga and mat Pilates. While rehabbing from breast cancer surgeries and treatments, Jess fell in love with reformer Pilates because of how supportive it is in rebuilding strength and alignment as well as connecting body, mind, and spirit. Jess committed herself to sharing Pilates with those who are healing from trauma, experiencing chronic pain, and all who want to reconnect with their bodies, alleviate stress, and feel strong!
Prior to teaching Pilates, Jess has been a visual artist and a professor of the arts for twenty years. Her book Road Through Midnight: A Civil Rights Memorial was named one of the best art books of 2020 by The New York Times. Along with her Pilates and creative practice, Jess advocates for juvenile justice involving children in Nashville, teaches art and art history at Tennessee prisons, and facilitates peacekeeping circles at organizations around the city. In her free time, Jessica loves to make art, take long walks, play tennis, read, travel, and be outside with her two dogs.
