Confused by exercises? Overwhelmed by hours? Stumped by pathologies?
Over the years, we’ve witnessed confusion, stagnation, and a lack of direction when trainees step away from the structure of taking Pilates teacher training modules. Our goal is to help you navigate the long — and honestly, sometimes arduous — journey of becoming a Pilates teacher by filling holes, offering guidance, and providing structure. In short: we’re here to help.
Led by Balanced Body Pilates Educators Erin Myers, Sarah Case, Whitney Etheridge, and Jennifer Stark, the Pilates Teacher Mentorship at Spiral Spine is designed to provide a personalized level of support with 24/7 access to valuable educational resources. Mentorship includes:
- One-on-one mentoring sessions with a Balanced Body Pilates Educator (Sarah, Whitney, or Jennifer)
- Access to the Pilates Teacher Resource Library, an ever-growing, on-demand video platform full of information covering exercises, sequences, anatomy, pathologies, business, and more
- Direction on completing the hundreds of required self-practice, observation, and student teaching hours required to test out
- Case Studies that help you develop your client assessment skills by exploring real client scenarios
Rather than simply memorizing exercises or sequences, you’ll develop the ability to evaluate movement, make thoughtful programming decisions, and adapt to the needs of each client. You’ll learn not only what to teach but why you’re teaching it—building the confidence and clinical reasoning needed to become a skilled, adaptable Pilates instructor.
Enjoy personalized mentorship without the pressure of a long-term commitment.
Our flexible 3-month mentorship rounds allow you to tailor the length of your program to your individual learning goals, investing in your growth one step at a time. With four rounds available, you can participate for up to a year.

- Reviewing challenging exercises
- Discussing anatomy, cueing, or programming questions
- Working through case studies
- Getting guidance on clients or teaching situations
- Practice teaching with feedback
- Personal practice
Please note: One-on-one mentorship with Erin is not included in the program. Private lessons with Erin may be booked separately based on availability.
Case Studies
Case studies are designed to help you develop your teaching thought process by practicing how you would approach real client scenarios. You’ll be given a client description and asked to consider how you would teach that client, including movement considerations, programming, and adaptations. Case studies are not homework assignments, nor are they graded. They’re an opportunity to prepare for challenging situations before they happen, build your confidence, and strengthen your decision-making as an instructor.
Pilates Teacher Resource Library
Access a growing collection of over 60 educational videos designed to support your learning throughout your teacher training journey. Ranging from 5 to 30 minutes in length, these videos provide you with additional tools to review concepts, deepen your understanding, and prepare for real-world teaching and include:
- Exercise demonstrations and breakdowns
- Anatomy and movement concepts
- Teaching and cueing strategies
- Special population considerations
- Case study support materials
- Business considerations
Use the Pilates Teacher Resource Library as your 24/7 learning hub, providing quick access to resources from Spiral Spine’s Balanced Body Pilates Educators whenever you need support outside of your mentoring sessions.
Frequently Asked Questions
First, it’s not a program. There’s no pressure to complete assignments or get things right to move onto the next level.
Second, you gain access to multiple Balanced Body Pilates Educators instead of one person. Giving you a variation of viewpoints to help you hone your voice as an instructor.
Third, Spiral Spine’s mentorship encourages intentional learning through self-practice, observation, journaling, and discussion. You’ll learn not only what to teach, but why you’re teaching it.
No! This mentorship is designed to help Balanced Body students, students bridging into Balanced Body’s program, or those wishing to learn more about teaching Pilates.
Nope! Unlike other mentorships, you can work with a team of Pilates Educators instead of a single mentor. You’ll get to select who to book your lesson with each month. You can stay with the same mentor, but you’re not required to. Learning from different mentors allows you to gain diverse perspectives and expand your teaching approach.
You’re not doing hours to complete the mentorship; you’re doing hours to complete your training program and feel confident in your teaching.
If you’d like additional one-on-one guidance, teaching feedback, or support with specific exercises, clients, or concepts, you can book extra private lessons with any mentor at any time. That’s what makes Spiral Spine’s Pilates Teacher Mentorship unique. Book a lesson here.
Note: Private lessons are the only availability for Erin’s mentorship.
Each Mentorship round lasts 3 months, and there are 4 rounds. You can participate for 3, 6, 9, or 12 months.
If you’re finishing rounds 1, 2, or 3, you can sign up for the next round of mentorship.
If you’re wrapping up round 4 and still feel like you need further guidance, book private lessons with your mentor. Book a lesson here.
All four rounds of mentorship include different complex client case studies. If you complete all four rounds, you’ll receive 12 case studies.
Spiral Spine can not ensure your passing of the Balanced Body test out or the Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher Exam; however, this mentorship is built to make sure you feel confident taking both of these tests.
