I have scoliosis and a spinal fusion, so I just had to order this book. I teach yoga to people with scoliosis and fusions, so have learned a great deal over the years of what is beneficial or not for the scoliotic body. There was still so much to learn from this book, and I appreciated every single one of the student stories. This book is a great resource, and especially for a parent trying to navigate the options for their child or adolescent with scoliosis. I was sad when I finished reading the book, because I didn't want it to end.

I love this book - it has helped me tremendously in my work as a pilates instructor, as I work with scoliosis clients. Highly recommended for other instructors who have scoliosis clients (or want to work with this population as a target market).

I appreciated the workshop. The materials and choreography helped me to get past reservations I have about working with individuals with scoliosis and/or spinal fusion in group settings. I appreciated the use of multiple planes of movement and equipment.

Erin is so insightful and knowledgeable in the world of scoliosis. I know I will be returning to this material as I continue to learn and grow myself. This book is helpful for people with scoliosis, as well as people that are trying to support someone through their scoli journey (parents, coaches, mentors, etc.). I only wish I had it when I was first learning about my diagnosis!

This book is a candid, clear, and passionate guide to each and every aspect of scoliosis. Easy to read and highly relatable, Analyzing Scoliosis gave my daughter and me the tools to work together toward accepting and improving her curves. We are inspired daily to embrace scoliosis without fear and fiercely follow Erin’s lead in better understanding the ‘spiraled spine.’
Erin’s honest approach and easy-to-follow guidelines give hope, build confidence, and create results for both instructors working with and clients living with scoliosis. This book is a true blessing to the Pilates community!

I am a Pilates teacher who has scoliosis, and two of my kids have scoliosis, as well. This book was a true gem for me. As a Pilates instructor I knew a lot of the alignment principles but was lacking the in-depth knowledge of scoliosis. The book shares the latest research on scoli and how it can be applied to the movement practice. There is no one-fit-all recipe for scoliosis. You constantly have to adjust and work with the body in front of you. Erin shares valuable advice on how to analyze the scoli back in front of you and how to design the best movement practice for this person. Here is what I liked about the book: detailed pictures, work and release exercises to try (several of them were new to me and my scoli body really loved them), tips on how to work with fused clients, finding different focus of exercise for scoli clients, and the easy language. The book was a pleasure to read and reread!

Great information Erin. I am a Physical Therapist and appreciate so much what Pilates can do for all types of bodies. What a great way to analyze the body in front of you and give both client and teacher feedback instantly on how Pilates can help and change dysfunctions. Thank you and you are fun and passionate.
Fusion Pilates EDU UserReview for "Analyzing Scoliosis"
If you have or your child has scoliosis, this book is an absolute “must-have”. Erin Myers has extensive expertise and personal knowledge of scoliosis, including how it is perceived (and often misperceived) in society and by the medical profession, its treatment and, most importantly, its emotional ramifications. The book gives the reader exactly what every scoliosis person needs – the comfort that you are not alone and the steps you need to take right now to empower yourself or your child. It gently guides you through the condition and how to develop an action plan to manage your scoliosis journey -- beyond the familiar tune of “watching and waiting”. You will feel that someone finally understands what you have been living with for months, years or even, as in my case, decades. It is not too early or too late to read this life-changing book.

Analyzing Scoliosis is a groundbreaking, comprehensive guidebook that will help every instructor conquer the common fear, anxiety, and hesitation that comes with working with scoliotic clients.Erin Myers is not afraid to confront long held myths and dogmas about movement and the scoliotic body, offering instead her well-reasoned insights based on the latest scientific research and the results of years of success with her own clients. The number of practical tools and techniques in the book that can be used right away is mind-blowing.Erin is a master in her field who has the rare gift of being able to simplify complicated subjects while demonstrating the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of everything she presents. Erin’s books are essential additions to my research library, and Analyzing Scoliosis is a must-have book on your studio shelf and a required read for your entire staff.

Your goofy energy is great and has made me reflect on how I interact with my young children patients as a pediatric physiotherapist. I also loved how involved you made her feel. Again a huge reflection and something that I will put straight in to practice. Through this and your website, you have also made scoliosis much clearer to me. It was something I always struggled to get my head around but I feel now I have a structure/framework that I can work off to individualize treatment. Thanks!
